A mock-violent joke closing the roll of greetings and jibes; Ekaterina Vasilyevna is a recurring unidentified figure of teasing in Chekhov's letters to Kiseleva (see, first at). Golokhvastova is named alongside her here for the first and only time in the corpus as currently built, and is a distinct (female) surname from the unrelated (a justice of the peace near Voskresensk) and (a writer named in).
