Garshin's widow

also: жена Гаршина, вдова, Garshin's wife

The widow of the writer Vsevolod Garshin (d. 1888), referred to here only as "Garshin's wife, the widow," who called on Chekhov shortly before this letter and who had known Zinaida Mikhailovna Lintvaryova while she was still in health; distinct from, the unrelated Moscow bookshop keeper nicknamed "Garshik" who shares only the surname's root.
