An unrelated family of the same surname Kiselev summering at Bogimovo in 1891, sharing the estate with the Chekhovs and the zoologist Wagner's family; Chekhov explicitly distinguishes them from Maria Vladimirovna Kiseleva's family at Babkino/Voskresensk ("the Kiselevs -- but not those Kiselevs, other ones, not the real ones"). The father of this family is an amateur painter who works on studies at Bogimovo.

Chekhov here goes out of his way to head off exactly the confusion an apparatus must avoid: an unrelated family also named Kiselev was independently summering at Bogimovo in 1891, distinct from Maria Vladimirovna's own family at Babkino/Voskresensk, to whom this letter is addressed. "Not the real ones" (не настоящие) is Chekhov's own joke that only the addressee's family are the Kiselevs that matter to him.

The amateur-painter father of an unrelated family also named Kiselev, summering at Bogimovo alongside the Chekhovs in 1891 -- introduced at greater length two letters earlier, where Chekhov jokes to Maria Vladimirovna Kiseleva that these are "not those Kiselevs, other ones, not the real ones." Distinct from the Babkino/Voskresensk Kiselev family (and related entities).
