Nikolai Dobrolyubov (1836-1861), influential radical critic of the 1860s associated with The Contemporary, whose social-minded literary criticism was standard reading for politically engaged students of the era; paired with Pisarev in Shalikov's memory as a marker of the progressive university years he has since abandoned.
