A story Chekhov repeatedly promises to Suvorin for "Novoye Vremya" across the correspondence of December 1888. First promised for 24 December in ("Княгиню напишу непременно"); this letter (§15) renews the promise and pushes delivery to January, alongside a firm commitment to write exclusively for Suvorin's paper until March, after which he will give "Severny Vestnik" a story. Should be tracked as a single running, still-unfulfilled commitment across these letters, not a new promise each time it recurs.

CONTINUITY -- this renews the same promised story already flagged as outstanding in's headnote ("Княгиню напишу непременно... Если успею сделать 'Княгиню' к 24 дек, то телеграфирую"), there targeted for 24 December 1888; this letter, written four days later, pushes the delivery date to January and should be read as an update to that same unresolved commitment, not a new one. No completed work by this title has yet appeared elsewhere in this corpus as of this letter's date.

"Knyaginya" ("The Princess"), the story Chekhov had long promised Suvorin for "Novoye Vremya" (first promised in, December 1888); this letter marks the promise finally being kept, with the finished manuscript enclosed, though Chekhov is dissatisfied with the polish ("not very smoothly") and offers to revise the proof.
