To M. N. Albov, 14 August 1891. Bogimovo.
М. Н. АЛЬБОВУ, 14 августа 1891 г. Богимово.
Headnote
A brief, formal note of 14 August 1891 from Bogimovo, the Kaluga province estate where the Chekhov family was summering, to Mikhail Nilovich Albov, a fellow writer and editor. a two-line dateline (long-form and short-form with postal town), a two-word salutation split across its own lines, a one-paragraph body, a closing request, a valediction, and signature.
Chekhov declines to commit to a date but promises a story or short novella once he is back in Moscow that autumn, thanking Albov for an invitation (evidently to contribute to a publication) and for keeping him in mind. He closes with a request to pass along a bow and cordial greetings to Kazimir Stanislavovich.
Dear Sir,
Многоуважаемый
Mikhail Nilovich!
I will certainly send you a story or a short novella, but not before autumn, when I return to Moscow. Thank you for the invitation and for remembering me.
Я непременно пришлю Вам рассказ или небольшую повесть, но не раньше осени, когда вернусь в Москву. Благодарю за приглашение и память.
Be so kind as to pass on my bow and my cordial regards to Kazimir Stanislavovich.
Будьте добры, передайте мой поклон и сердечный привет Казимиру Станиславовичу.
Sincerely yours, with respect,
Искренно Вас уважающий
