• To M. N. Albov, 30 September 1891. Moscow. §3 Mikhail Nilovich

  The addressee is Mikhail Nilovich Albov (1851-1911), belletristic and (from 1891) official editor of "Severny Vestnik." The corpus's existing entity currently carries the canonical_name "Vasily Pavlovich Albov," taken from a bare, patronymic-less surname in a satirical list in "A Literary Table of Ranks". No historical writer named "Vasily Pavlovich Albov" is attested; the entity's own summary gives the dates "(1851-1911)", which are exactly Mikhail Nilovich Albov's birth and death years -- strong internal evidence that the entity's given name/patronymic were mis-recorded at creation and that it in fact denotes this same Mikhail Nilovich Albov. Two other headnotes already in this corpus independently identify the "Albov" of their letters as Mikhail Nilovich and link the mention to this same entity, i.e. corpus practice already treats as Mikhail Nilovich Albov. This letter follows that established practice and reuses rather than minting a duplicate entity, while flagging here -- per this letter's own translator note -- that the entity's canonical_name field should eventually be corrected to "Mikhail Nilovich Albov" by whoever next has write access to entities.json; this note does not itself alter the entity record. Separately, the source patronymic here ("Нилович") is itself internally consistent with the historical Mikhail Nilovich Albov, so no source error is at play -- only a longstanding entity-metadata error.

  Vasily Albov, prose writer and at this date an editorial figure at \emph{Severny Vestnik} (named in the following section), reported here as a third independent source of praise and, more concretely, a firm publication date -- March -- for one of Yezhov's stories. Not explicitly stated whether this is the same story as \S7's "Woman" or \S8's story held by Leikin; the letter does not disambiguate.

  "Потеря, какую он понес" -- Chekhov refers to an unspecified recent bereavement or loss suffered by Vasily Pavlovich Albov, already established in this corpus (e.g.).
