Reading notes
- To A. S. Suvorin, 17 December 1888. Moscow. §6 She asked that Sabinin be given to Gorev, and Adashev to Lensky.
NEW ENTITY -- Gorev, a Maly Theatre actor, first appearance in this corpus. Distinct from the unrelated actress (Elizaveta Goreva), who shares only a similar transliterated surname; Gorev here is discussed as a candidate for the fictional male role of Sabinin (new entity, a character in "Tatyana Repina"), and Chekhov adds that he knows Gorev and thinks Suvorin might agree to the assignment.
- To N. A. Nikulina, 22 December 1888. Moscow. §4 Mr. Gorev
Fyodor Petrovich Gorev, an actor at the Maly Theatre, under discussion for the role of Sabinin in the surrounding Suvorin correspondence of this same week. Not to be confused with the unrelated actress Elizaveta Nikolayevna Goreva, who appears elsewhere in the corpus.
