Lyubov Yakovlevna Gurevich (1866-1940), editor and publisher of "Severny Vestnik" ("The Northern Herald") from 1891, having taken over the journal from its previous publisher-editress Anna Yevreinova. This is the first letter in the corpus addressed directly to her: Chekhov apologizes for a cash-advance request that had reached her secondhand, through the journal's editor Albov, and settles his fee arrangement with her directly.

Almost certainly Lyubov Yakovlevna Gurevich (1866-1940), who took over as publisher-editor of the St. Petersburg journal "Severny Vestnik" ("The Northern Herald") in 1891 and would go on to be Chekhov's regular correspondent and editor there through the early 1890s -- see (2 December 1891), written to her directly less than a week after this visit, which confirms the identification beyond reasonable doubt. Chekhov's assessment here is backhanded: personable and well-read, in his view, but without a journalist's instinct for the practical business of running a magazine.
