"Дурной человек" ("A Bad Man") is Pleshcheyev's OWN play -- his Russian translation of a German comedy by Julius Rosen -- not a work of Chekhov's. Chekhov is pressing Svetlov to take it up as a substitute now that "Brazen Foreheads" has run into a snag; he follows up on the matter again five days later in letter 497.
