"Pozharny" ("The Fireman")

The fire-safety/fire-insurance trade journal Alexander Pavlovich Chekhov had recently become editor of -- the occasion for this letter's sustained mock-solemn joking about Alexander as a "fireman editor" foretold since childhood. Chekhov asks that copies be sent to his new Melikhovo/Lopasnya mailing address, and closes the letter with a business postscript noting an omitted section (court cases on arson and insurance) for the journal's programme.
