Auntie (unnamed family aunt, Sumy/Luka period)

Auntie

also: тетя, Auntie

An unnamed aunt figure recurring in the Chekhov family's Sumy/Luka-period correspondence, apparently living nearby and in regular contact with the household; first appears as "Auntie and her brood" in the greetings list of the immediately preceding letter to Masha (\S5, left unlinked there pending cross-reference), and here as the person from whose shed or household a sample stretcher-frame is to be borrowed (\S4, \S6). Not further identified by name in the source; distinct from the Moscow-household "Aunt F." tracked from a different letter.
