Probable-not-certain identification: a young son of the poet Alexei Pleshcheyev, addressed here in the diminutive as Chekhov invites him to attend the Petersburg premiere of "Ivanov" as a cautionary lesson in how not to write a play. Distinct from Pleshcheyev's adult sons Nikolai Alekseevich and Alexander Alexeyevich, and NOT to be conflated with the unrelated Georges/Zhorzh Lintvaryov, who is elsewhere in the corpus called by the same pet name "Zhorzhinka" but belongs to a different family (the Lintvaryovs of Sumy, with no connection to Pleshcheyev) -- the corpus's existing "Zhorzhinka" mentions (e.g.) all resolve to Georgy Lintvaryov and must not be merged with this entity. The identification with Pleshcheyev's household follows from context (addressed as a family member in a letter to Pleshcheyev) but no source in this corpus gives a full name or confirms which Pleshcheyev child is meant; treat as probable, not certain.

PROBABLE, NOT CERTAIN -- "Zhorzhinka"/"Zhorzhik" is a diminutive of Georgy/Zhorzh; in context (a letter to Pleshcheyev, asking after a family member and inviting him to the theater) this is almost certainly a young son of Alexei Pleshcheyev, tracked here as. NOTE: elsewhere in this corpus the identical pet name "Zhorzhinka" resolves to the unrelated Georges Lintvaryov of the Sumy household -- that is a different family with no connection to Pleshcheyev, and the two "Zhorzhinka"s must be kept distinct. This entry deliberately does NOT reuse.

Probable-not-certain identification, per the established entity: Pleshcheyev's son Georgy, called "Zhorzhinka" in Chekhov's earlier letter to Pleshcheyev of 15 January 1889; the diminutive "Zhorzhik" here is consistent with that identification though the letter itself supplies no full name. Not to be confused with Georgy (Egor/Georges) Mikhailovich Lintvaryov, an unrelated figure of the same nickname who belongs to the Lintvaryov family at Luka -- the coincidence is sharpened by this letter's own next sentence, which sends Zhorzhik toward Luka, the Lintvaryov estate, without implying any family connection between the two Georgys.
