Alexander Zhezlov

Father Savva's son, a well-known Moscow barrister who visits his father for the first time in over a decade while in town to defend the former mayor at trial; his tall tales of extravagant earnings and spending -- a three-hundred-ruble theater ticket, a mortgaged sixty-thousand-ruble house, an eight-ruble bottle of wine -- delight and baffle the old man, who takes them all for comic exaggeration.
