  The Chekhov family's Moscow address in early 1887, in the Kudrino district on the city's western edge, identified -- per common Russian practice -- by the surname of the building's owner, Korneev, rather than by street number.

  Not a person but the Chekhov family's Moscow landlord, lending his name (as was customary) to the apartment building in the Kudrino district where they then lived -- grouped here, in the letter's closing mock-formal greetings, alongside the household pets as an affectionate joke.

  Chekhov's own Moscow residential address at the time of writing, reusing the already-established (first documented in this corpus at, 1887, and still current as of earlier this same January); preserved here as a concrete biographical detail rather than treated as needing a new entity.

  NON-CONFLATION FLAG -- this is Chekhov's own Moscow residence in this period,, attested identically or near-identically across many neighboring 1889 letters in this corpus (e.g. [as "our landlord Korneev's" household]). The landlord's fuller name, "Я. А. Корнеев" (Ya. A. Korneyev), is given in, per which the landlord mention here is keyed to rather than to the separate, not-yet-reconciled entity (introduced at for the same landlord under a distinct id); a future consolidation pass may wish to merge into now that the fuller name is attested, but that merge is out of scope for this letter's apparatus. Keep the place (the building) and the person (the landlord) distinct from each other.
