  Referent-tracking note for translators: "Monsieur Georges" ("M-eur Жорж"/"Zhorzh") in this closing postscript is Egor (Georgy) Mikhailovich Lintvaryov, the good-natured, piano-playing member of the Lintvaryov household at Luka (confirmed by the same "Zhorzh"/"Georges" identification in the nearby letter) -- not Pleshcheyev, the letter's addressee. Chekhov is literally handing over the remainder of the page to Georges, not making a remark about or to Pleshcheyev.

  "Zhorzhik," a diminutive of "Zhorzh"/"Georges," is Georgy Mikhailovich Lintvaryov, the piano-playing son of the Lintvaryov household near Sumy where the Chekhovs summered (compare the near-identical report in the 13 August 1888 letter to Pleshcheyev, "Zhorzh is playing. He is thinking of going to the conservatory.") -- not a son of Pleshcheyev's own family, despite the superficial resemblance of the name.

  "Georges" is Georgy Mikhailovich Lintvaryov (established as in and elsewhere), the piano-playing Lintvaryov son, soon to visit Pleshcheyev in Petersburg -- a real family friend, not a figure of speech, and a different Lintvaryov sibling from Pavel in section 6.

  Georges (Zhorzh) Lintvaryov, of the Lintvaryov family at whose Luka estate near Sumy the Chekhovs summered. This letter shows the Petersburg trip that (4 October 1888) had anticipated -- "You will soon see Georges. He is going to Petersburg" -- now actually underway: Georges has passed through Moscow, played the Chekhovs' piano, and leaves for Petersburg the day after tomorrow.

  "Georges" is Georges (Zhorzh) Lintvaryov, of the Lintvaryov family at whose Luka estate the Chekhovs summered, matching the established corpus entity per its identification in letters 490 and 499 (where he is likewise reported traveling toward or through Petersburg). DISAMBIGUATION: this is NOT the actor Lensky named earlier in the same letter at loc 3 -- "Georges" and "Lensky" are two entirely separate people who happen to appear within a few sentences of one another in this short, list-like letter; the proximity has no significance beyond Chekhov's terse listing style.

  "Жоржинька" (Zhorzhinka) is an affectionate diminutive of "Жорж"/"Georges"/"Zhorzh," the same Georgy Mikhailovich Lintvaryov already established as in letters 490 and 499 (there reported traveling toward, then arriving in, Petersburg to play piano for Pleshcheyev) -- not a different person.

  Almost certainly Egor ("Georges"/"Zhorzh") Mikhailovich Lintvaryov, the Tchaikovsky-worshipping amateur pianist among the Lintvaryov siblings and Elena Mikhailovna's brother -- an identification drawn by context from the companion letters, where he is placed in Chekhov's circle and connected to Tchaikovsky. The source here does not name him explicitly, so this remains a contextual inference, not a certainty.

  Egor ("Georges"/"Zhorzh") Mikhailovich Lintvaryov, brother of the addressee Natalya Mikhailovna and of Elena Mikhailovna Lintvaryova, a member of the Lintvaryov family at the Luka estate near Sumy. Chekhov had promised to travel back from Petersburg together with him but left early, prompting the apology relayed here through Natalya. Same figure named "your brother" in and reported en route to/from Petersburg in and.

  Georgy Mikhailovich Lintvaryov ("Zhorzhinka," a diminutive of Georgy), a member of the Lintvaryov family who owned the Luka estate near Sumy on the Psyol river in Ukraine, where the Chekhovs summered; established elsewhere in this corpus, e.g.. Not to be conflated with the similarly-nicknamed "Zhorzhinka" figure elsewhere identified as a probable Pleshcheyev son -- the corpus's existing apparatus already flags this exact naming trap and confirms the Lintvaryov identification wherever "Zhorzhinka" appears alongside Sumy/Luka context, as it does here (\S7 explicitly ties him to persuading Pleshcheyev to come to Sumy).

  Diminutive/nickname ("Жоржик") for Georgy Mitrofanovich Lintvaryov, the musically talented son of the Lintvaryov family at Luka; Chekhov's assessment here (loves music, talented, kind, but otherwise an enigma, likely to dissipate his gifts in "separate flashes") is a real, somewhat wistful critical judgment about a young man he was fond of, not mere pleasantry, and should be preserved as such rather than flattened into generic praise.

  A teasing aside about Yegor (Georgy) Mikhailovich Lintvarev's hobby of pig-keeping at Luka; "свинством" ("piggery," also colloquially "swinishness/indecency") is a mild pun Chekhov immediately glosses himself ("that is, in other words") to make sure the joke about literal pig-keeping, not any impropriety, lands.
