Theological Seminary (generic)

seminary

also: семинария, духовное училище

The generic Orthodox theological seminary (dukhovnaya seminariya) and its preparatory diocesan school (dukhovnoe uchilishche), the standard training and credentialing path for Russian parish clergy; ordination straight from the seminary bench, without an intervening period as deacon or teacher, left a young priest liturgically inexperienced and without independent means.
