Three distinct men are named as examples of drinkers who at least acted openly about it: Suvorin's unnamed father-in-law (see loc 6, kept without an entity_id as he is never named), Gay (a figure in Suvorin's Petersburg circle already established at), and Zhitel (distinct from Gay and from Fyodorov at loc 6 -- none of the three should be conflated with one another or with Suvorin himself).

"Gey" (Гей) is the same figure in Suvorin's Petersburg circle already established in this corpus (first appearance, reused at's headnote), heard playing billiards with the footman Vasily during Chekhov's March 1888 stay; not otherwise identified beyond that earlier appearance, and this letter adds only a passing greeting. Reused rather than newly catalogued on the strength of the exact name match and continuing Suvorin-household context.
