  Daughter of Alexei Sergeyevich and Maria Vladimirovna Kiselev; the five-franc coin is an otherwise unexplained private joke or keepsake from within the Kiselev household, not documented elsewhere in the corpus.

  A mock-official "reprimand" (строжайший выговор) addressed to the Kiselev children, continuing the letter's parody of formal bureaucratic language even into its closing family greetings.

  Vasilisa, the Kiselevs' household member/daughter, as in the closing regards of letter 3-516.

  Vasilisa Kiseleva, daughter of Alexei Sergeyevich and Maria Vladimirovna Kiselev, greeted here alongside her father in Chekhov's habitual closing bows to the Babkino household.

  Vasilisa Kiseleva, daughter of Alexei Sergeyevich and Maria Vladimirovna, greeted here alongside her parents as in earlier letters to the family.

• To A. A. Kiseleva, 8 January 1890. Petersburg. §4 Vasilisa Panteleimonovna

  The letter's actual in-text addressee, as opposed to Aleksandra Aleksandrovna Kiseleva, under whom the standard edition files the letter (probably reflecting only whose archive preserved it). "Vasilisa Panteleimonovna" is a mock-solemn, deliberately absurd name-and-patronymic -- the patronymic "Panteleimonovna" does not match any attested Kiselev parent and is almost certainly comic invention, not a real patronymic to be resolved. This note deliberately does NOT force a merge of "Vasilisa Panteleimonovna" into: the mentions file links the surface form to the existing entity only because it is the closest attested name-match ("Vasilisa" + "Kiseleva household"), not because the identification with the daughter is confirmed.

• To M. V. Kiseleva, 20 July 1891. Bogimovo. §3 Vasilisa Panteleevna

  The Kiselevs' daughter, addressed throughout this corpus (from the mid-1880s Babkino letters onward) by the mock-formal patronymic "Panteleevna" as part of a running family joke; she is here credited, tongue-in-cheek, as the "highly talented" author of a comic poem on drunkenness. Confirmed continuity with the earlier 1887-1888 Kiseleva letters, where she and her brother Serozha ("Финик"/Finik) are regularly greeted together.
