Rodina
"Rodina"
also: Родина, Homeland
A Russian periodical ("Homeland") that announces a forthcoming contributor billed only as "M. Chekhov," prompting Chekhov's joking guess that this is their uncle Mitrofan Yegorovich Chekhov rather than any other relation. Distinct from, the unrelated journal discussed elsewhere in this correspondence.
Reading notes
- To Al. P. Chekhov, 16 November 1888. Moscow. §10 "Rodina"
"Rodina" ("Homeland") is a periodical distinct from "Severny Vestnik" ("The Northern Herald," §9), the journal that already owed Chekhov money per §9 -- the two should not be conflated; this letter's §9 and §10 concern two entirely separate journals in successive sections.
