Ivan Ivanych (Suvorin's dog)

Ivan Ivanych

also: Иван Иваныч

A real dog kept by the Suvorin household in Petersburg in 1888, mentioned alongside Fyodor Timofeich and Auntie during Chekhov's March 1888 stay. Shares its name with the fictional performing goose Ivan Ivanych in Chekhov's "Kashtanka" -- a different species and a different fictional/real status, not the same character.
